Nelson Price works in the supply chain at Tesla that deals with battery, solar, and automotive parts and materials. He is the Lead Warehouse Clerk in the Shipping and Receiving department, and has worked there for 6 years. He is also 49 years old and is currently living in San Diego, California. His duties at work include picking materials that will be used for installer crews to install at people’s homes and businesses, keeping inventory of all the materials, and replenishing materials by ordering them when they run out.

Due to the pandemic, getting the materials to get his job done has been slow. Some of the companies that they get their materials from have stopped working, and some of the materials come from overseas, meaning they need to be shipped via supply ships. One new skill Nelson has had to learn at work and home during the pandemic is dealing with online training, compared to in-person training.

Nelson believes Covid-19 will change how we see work because there will be less face-to-face interactions, and that it will change how he runs his business in the future because now, he will be more diligent when talking to other people, in order to look out for his and his co-workers’ health in the workplace. Something that he believes Covid-19 has affected in a positive way, moving forward, is that people are being more concerned about not getting sick or exposed. One thing he believes it has affected in a negative way moving forward, however, is the increase of hate crimes. Nelson believes that listening to the media has caused a lot of negative bias based on people’s race and color.
